Project Description

Master Bathroom Remodel in Overland Park, KS

This full master bathroom remodel in Overland Park, Kansas, was phase two of a three-phase home renovation. Phase three was our full kitchen remodel.

Phase one of this renovation was the walk-in pantry conversion and laundry relocation.

From the Original Bathroom to a Fresh New Space

This master bathroom remodel replaced dark patterned wallpaper, a black built-in tub with a tiled deck, and a brass-framed shower enclosure with a lighter palette and updated fixtures. The before, construction, and reveal photos document the transformation.

Project Features

  • Heated tile flooring throughout the bathroom, including the shower floor.
  • A custom double vanity.
  • A freestanding Jacuzzi tub.
  • A bidet.
  • A custom tiled shower.

Freestanding Tub and Tiled Shower

A white freestanding Jacuzzi tub now sits beneath the bay windows, opening up the area previously occupied by the built-in tub surround. The shower features large wall tiles with a vertical texture, two recessed storage niches, a rainfall showerhead, a handheld shower, and a frameless glass enclosure.

Heated Tile Floors and Shower Preparation

Construction photos show electric floor-heating cable installed before the floor tile, along with Schluter-KERDI waterproofing on the shower walls. The tile floor continues into the shower, where carefully cut tile follows the slopes toward a square drain.

Double Vanity and Storage

The new white double vanity includes generous drawer storage and tall cabinets at both ends. A dark green accent wall, two individual mirrors, and three wall sconces frame the vanity. Warm metallic finishes connect the cabinet hardware and plumbing fixtures.

Before, During, and Reveal

The photo series follows removal of the original tub, installation of the vanity cabinetry, heating cable and tile work, shower preparation, and the final reveal.
