Making better use of an existing basement
The homeowners wanted a more functional basement for everyday living and hosting guests. KC Handyman recommended reducing an oversized guest bedroom closet to create space for a new full bathroom and converting an exercise room into a recreation/guest room.
From layout planning to construction
Bathroom design renderings helped illustrate the proposed layout before construction. The work included demolition, concrete slab trenching, full under-slab plumbing, concrete patching, new wall framing, rough plumbing, and electrical work.
A new full bathroom
The bathroom includes a tiled shower with a pebble mosaic floor, a recessed storage niche, and a sliding glass enclosure with black hardware. Light marble-look wall and floor tile, green painted walls, a wood vanity, and white trim complete the space. Construction photos document the shower waterproofing and tile preparation before the finished surfaces were installed.
A more functional guest and recreation space
The revised basement layout connects the new bathroom with the guest and recreation areas, making the existing space more practical for family use and visitors. KC Handyman completed all project work except the carpet installation.
